The Sofar HYD-ES Hybrid inverter is used in photovoltaic systems for home and business where battery backup is also required. Energy produced by the solar array will be optimized for maximum self-consumption.
The Sofar HYD-ES 6kW Inverter has multiple modes of use to suit your needs. Auto mode will enable you to charge your battery with your surplus PV energy and it will use stored energy from the battery to power your load when the PV energy supply is too low. Should the grid go down, like, during load shedding, the Sofar inverter will work in EPS (Emergency Power Supply) mode which will keep the supply to your appliances flowing.
Reliability, high yield, easy operation and intelligent power management are all the words you want to hear when choosing an inverter.

Essential & Non-Essential Loads
Being able to have Essential & Non-Essential loads enables you to split out your heavy appliances, saving your battery backup.
The Sofar is a true Hybrid inverter , it blends the DC (panels & batteries with the AC grid in the most efficient way.
Robust & Reliable
A great looking unit makes the Sofar a firm favourite over other inverters in this range, the quality of the Sofar inverters are fantastic.
Compatible with most AGM and Lithium-ion batteries on the market, this inverter has many years of development making it stable and robust when configured correctly.
The Sofar can be installed outside, making it an all around weather proof machine.
Keep on top of you consumption remotely with the Solar System monitoring iPhone or Android app.
A big intuitive LCD display not only looks great but functions very well.
Get peace of mind with a standard 5-year warranty giving you that peace of mind.
Q1 ) With the Sofar HYD 6000 ES Hybrid, during peak sunshine daytime when there is loadshedding (i.e no Grid connection -Emergency Power supply) how will the Sofar provide energy to the loads (3kW max)? Will it be supplied from the PV panels provided there is sufficient panles and sunlight, or only from the battery, or mixed from both, and is this configurable?
2) What is included in the Sofar 6000 ES box? E.g. is the CT included, etc. and what extras must be purchased to make it work properly as a full hybrid?
3) Can an extended warrantee (>5years) be purchased and at what cost?
4) During night time when there is no PV energy, is it configurable to only supply the load from the battery, or from the grid, or mixed from both?
Hi, if your load is 3kW then the PV and Battery (depending on the battery capacity) will power your load, this inverter can take a maximum of 6600 watts of PV which I would recommend if you want the maximum during the day.
There is a CT clamp included, you will need batteries to be fully Hybrid.
We don't offer an extended warranty for this unfortunately.
During the evening the battery power would be used until it is empty then it will use the grid, this can be set in various ways too if you want to reserve battery.
QI see recommend the Deye 5 KW if I want to add another inverter at a later stage? Would it have to be the same size which would mean that it would be a total of 10kW am I correct in saying this?
Hi, you can parallel the Deye and yes this would add up to 10kW if you add 2 together.
Qthis 3k-6k-es will run how many appliances during load shedding, how much will cost for the installation?
QHi - can my 2,2kw petrol inverter-generator be used to charge a 6kW inverter? Or will it only charge a 2kW inverter?
Hi, you cannot charge an inverter but I'm assuming you mean batteries?
Qcan you add on another inverter at a later date and when the batteries are fully charged and I am not using electricity will the surplus be fed back to my analog meter thereby running it backwards
AHi, the grid isn't able to take the feedback of power, there is a CT clamp that will prevent this from happening, otherwise, you will get charged. The Eskom grid isn't able to handle it.
You can't parallel these inverters, my recommendation is the Deye 5kW inverter if you need this.
